What is the problem?
Due to a possible safety issue, Carqon is launching a voluntary recall. During the recall, the bolts and/or steering tube will be inspected and if necessary, replaced.
Intensive use of the Carqon cargo bikes may cause pulley bolts to come loose, which could potentially lead to bolts falling out and unsafe situations. In addition, Carqon has discovered that in exceptional cases the steerer tube might show cracks that could lead to the tube breaking.
We are not taking any risks and have therefore decided to inspect all Carqon cargo bikes. Owners of all models are advised to stop using the cargo bike immediately until the repair service has been carried out.

If you have registered your cargo bike and it turns out that your cargo bike should be inspected, please contact your dealer to schedule an appointment. It is important that you first schedule an appointment and then check that all four bolts are properly in place before cycling to your dealer.
You can check this by looking under the cargo bike at handlebar level, using a mirror if necessary (see image 'Where is the pulley'). If all four bolts are in place, as shown in the picture below ('Pulley with 4 bolts'), you can safely ride to the dealer. Are all four bolts in properly? Then cycle to the dealer without children and/or animals in the cargo bike and at a maximum speed of 15 km/h.
